木嶋坐天照御魂神社（蚕の社)

神道はキリスト教も習合

　出張して時間が出来たため、以前から気になっていた木嶋神社（正式には木嶋坐天照御魂神社＝このしまにますあまてるみたまじんじゃ）に行ってみた。京都は、東映映画村で有名な太秦というところにあって、JR京都駅から地下鉄、嵐電に乗り継いでいく。嵐電は路面電車で、旅情あふれまくりの京都の中でも、さらに3割増の旅情（当者比）を感じさせてくれた。

　そこには、不思議な三本足の鳥居がある。

　ボクがこの神様の存在を知ったのは、ボクがまだ「ムー」読者だった高校生の時だったと思う。
　例によって、日ユ同祖論関連の文脈の中で登場した。ユダヤ教、ネストリウス派のキリスト教（景教）との関連があるとかないとか。

　こうやって書くと怪情報になっちまうが、神道にはキリスト教も習合されているのは、事実だと思う。
　シルクロードのどんづまりであるこの列島に、世界中の文物が流れ込んできたのは、奈良の正倉院に納められているものを見れば一目瞭然。だとしたら、モノにともなって人も来たわけで、中にはユダヤ教徒や異端とされた宗派のクリスチャンだっていたとしても、不自然ではない。
　さまざまな宗教に影響を受けて教義らしきものを作り上げてきた神道に、そういった宗教の「いいとこ」を取り入れていたのだと思う。
　神道にはユダヤ教と似た儀式や作法があるからといって「日本はユダヤの失われた民の末裔だ」などというのは、ちとムリがあるんじゃないかなぁ、と。ストーリーとしては面白いが、根拠としては薄すぎる。神道とユダヤ教が似ているとしたら、奈良や京都といったいにしえの都は、とてつもなく国際的だった、ということの裏付けでしかないと思う。

　嵐電の蚕の杜駅を降りるとすぐに一の鳥居があり、門前町風のしゃがれた街並を抜けると、そこに鎮守の杜があった。
　白木の鳥居と木々が結界となって、何やら不可思議な雰囲気を閉じ込めているのは確かだ。
