第二、三宮から神宝館へ

　高宮を降りると、第二宮、第三宮へ。このお社は伊勢神宮第60回御遷宮古材によって再建された唯一神明造の社殿とのことで、古式ゆかしい。パンパンと二礼に拍手一礼をすませば、三女神すべてに御祈願したことになる。

　神宝館をじっくり見ても、宗像大社辺津宮は２時間もあれば、すみずみまでみることができるんじゃないだろうか。
　あ、そういえば本殿の回りには七十五もの末社が取り囲んでいる。これは（もちろんそんなことは由緒書きには書いてないが）宗像大宮司家の所領にあった神社をすべて、持ってきたものだとボクは思う。神様を取り込むことで、支配力を強めようスピリチュアル的な戦略を取ったんだとボクは思う。

　宗像大宮司家は平安時代から、鎌倉・南北朝の動乱を経て、戦国時代まで続いた、いわば神主大名である。阿蘇氏など、九州には神主大名の活躍が目覚ましいが、それはまたいつか、どこかで。大名としての宗像氏は、第79代（！）氏貞の代で、豊臣秀吉の九州征伐を前に終焉。その時には、凄惨な内紛でもって怨霊伝説も生まれるが、それもまた、どこかで。
